Hello

Welcome

The graphic shown above was a project in 3D Studio I created with a gold treble cleff staff with violin open string notes in front of a color mirror background.

I love the ocean.  Surfing was an important part of my high school and college years in Southern California.  See below.

 = = = = = = Jim Wyler  = = = =

Jim Wyler was an avid surfer.  The bigger the waves the better.  The picture below shows a similar wave he caught in 1964.

Jim has a BA & MA as a music major from The University of California Long Beach.  Jim studied horn with many professional horn players in LA and AZ.  In LA he studied with H. Robert Reynolds, Jimmy Decker (Columbia Symphony 1st Horn,) and Ralph Pyle (2nd horn in LA Phil.).

In Ariznan, he is studying with Gabriel Kovack (1st horn in Phoenix Symp. and Greg Umber (4th horn in Phoenix Symp. retired)

Jim currently plays in symphonies and bands in AZ with his Patterson Triple Horn.

Jim & Jann Wyler have a long history of Singing Groups.  They currently own a charter school in Mesa, AZ (https://nhorizon.net)

1964 - 25' Wave - Seal Beach Jetty

The arrow shows where the wave broke.

The wave broke near the end of the Jetty of the Long Beach Harbor and broke 2 more times which went about 1/4 mile.  This shot shows normal activity but that day the waves were between 20 and 30 feet caused by a hurricane off the Baha Coast which was perfect for the Southern facing Seal Beach Jetty.

Jim Wyler

From Southern California, Utah, and Arizona.  Master in Music as a French Hornist in LA.  Professional Hornist in LA and Utah.  Member of the Cal State Long Beach Brass Quintet.  Principal Horn in the 300th Army Band.  Principal Hornist in the Phoenix College Symphony Orchestra for over 10 years before COVID.  A member of the AWS Wind Symphony in Tempe.  Director of the New Horizon School for the Performing Arts from 1969 to the present.   An avid “plane watcher”.   Played football in HS.

Jim Wyler was Principal Horn with the Phoenix College Symphony for over 10 years.  These are a few excerpts before the COVID shutdown worldwide.  Jim Wyler purchased a Paterson Triple Horn in 2017.  This is an American-made triple horn used by many professional players worldwide.
