THE PASSING OF SONNY ON DECEMBER 7TH, 2016
Sonny is the the trumpet player on the far right.
Sonny passed away December 7, 2016. Pearl Harbor Day. I had been with him much of the afternoon and even though mostly unresponsive, I feel that he knew that I was there with him.
Thanks to hospice and the wonderful care givers at Desert Willow, Sonny simply slipped quietly, peacefully away, no drama, no trauma. Like when a ship sails over the horizon line and you can no longer see it. The ship is still sailing, but it is no longer visible. Sonny will always remain in our memories, playing his beloved trumpet.
The funeral will be in Philadelphia.
